New e-Resource - Twentieth Century Drama

We have recently acquired permanent online access to the Twentieth Century Drama database.

Twentieth-Century Drama is a global collection of 1,950 published plays from the English-speaking world, which cover the history of modern drama from the 1890s to the present day.

It contains plays by over 300 authors from N America and Canada, Britain and Ireland, India, Africa, Australia and the Caribbean, and will offer 2,500 plays, once complete.  Content includes:
  • African American drama
  • Additional American ethnic theatre traditions
  • Off-Broadway and regional alternative theatre from the US
  • Seminal 'Off-Off-Broadway' productions
  • Popular successes from Broadway and the West End
  • Women playwrights from throughout the century and across the globe

Twentieth Century Drama is accessed through Literature Online (LION), and can be cross-searched with the other LION databases.

Links into the individual plays will be added to SAULCAT, the Library catalogue.
