JISC Historic Books - create stable URLs to content

A stable URL is a persistent link which you can copy and paste into web pages or documents, to enable direct links back to a specific page, or to a list of search results.

To create a link to a specific page of a book in JISC Historic Books, simply:
  • click on the globe icon - top right of the page image below - to display a URL
  • then copy and paste this link into a document or web page

To create a link to the results of an Author or Title search:
  • select Advanced Search
  • enter your search terms in the Author or Title fields
  • at the top of the Results page (example below), click on the Open URL link
  • then copy and paste this link into a document or web page

When someone clicks on the pasted Open URL link, it will take them to the specific page or Results list that you want them to see (logging in with their University Username and Password, if they are off-campus).
