New e-Resource - Chronicle: BBC Northern Ireland's television news from the Sixties and Seventies

We now have access to Chronicle: BBC Northern Ireland's television news from the 60s and 70s through the BUFVC (British Universities Film and Video Council).

Hours of content from BBC Northern Ireland's archives have been digitised to allow news and current affairs events, covering Northern Ireland and The Troubles, to be explored.

Content has been taken from 14 years of Northern Ireland’s history (1963-1976), and offers an important contextual experience from political, historical and cultural perspectives.

Over 4,000 videos are currently available, ranging from 1963-1971, but more will be added.

If you haven't accessed Chronicle before, you'll need to register the first time you use it:
  • to access, choose Login
  • type 'St Andrews' into the 'Where are you from' box
  • click on 'University of St Andrews'
  • then 'Go to Login', enter your University Account details, and select 'New User'
  • on the Preferences form, complete the User Information and Account Information areas
  • add your University e-mail address, and save
  •  - and that's it!
For all subsequent logins, just login using your University Username and Password
