JISC Historic Books - latest enhancements!

The latest enhancements to JISC Historic Books are now live!
  • New sorting options:
you can now sort your search results by Author and Title, as well by Relevance and Date
  • New Item selection:a tick box for each item allows you to select them for email, export or saving to My Bibliography (see below). E-mailing sends basic bibliographic information and a full-text link to the item. Exporting allows downloading in formats compatible with major reference management software.
  • My Bibliography:
this new feature allows you to build up a personal list of books which is saved between sessions.
  • New Plain Text tag:
all items have a Plain Text tag. If this is greyed out, a 'mouse over' message tells you that this result only includes an image of the work which is not searchable. This only applies to EEBO (Early English Books Online) books that have not yet been keyed in. All other records will have searchable plain text.

ScienceDirect and Scopus - more content; more compatible browsers

A ScienceDirect and Scopus update is scheduled for 1 December 2012.

This will extend full internet browser coverage to include Google Chrome and Safari, including Safari on the iPad.

If you use one of these browsers you now have access to the full functionality of ScienceDirect and Scopus.

Firefox and Internet Explorer 7, 8 & 9 are already fully compatible with these databases.
During this scheduled maintenance, there may be minor disruptions to some ScienceDirect and Scopus functionality

Scopus content

The Scopus title list has also been updated, with more than 700 new titles added since April 2012 - bringing the total number of active titles to almost 20,500.
