UK Data Service website launches

"Your resource for quality social research data"

The UK Data Service is a new national service funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

It provides access to over 6,000 digital data collections for research and teaching purposes.

It makes available an extensive range of key economic and social data, both quantitative and qualitative, spanning many disciplines and themes, and supporting researchers, teachers and policymakers who depend on high-quality social and economic data.

The service consolidates the following established data services/websites:
  • Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS)
  • Census.ac.uk
  • Secure Data Service (SDS)
  • Survey Question Bank (SQB)
The UK Data Service provides a single point of access to a wide range of secondary data, including:
Use the Discover interface to explore the data collection, free user guides and supporting materials.

Comprehensive support, training and guidance is also available to meet the needs of data users, owners and creators.
