Trial eResource - Nineteenth-Century Short Title Catalogue (NSTC)

We have a free trial of the Nineteenth-Century Short Title Catalogue database, until 3 May 2013.

The NSTC is a catalogue of over 1.2 million records for printed material, in English, published in the United States and the British Empire, between 1801-1919.

It 'defines the printed record of the English-speaking world' for this period.

It includes records from the catalogues of eight copyright and research libraries - the Bodleian Library; the British Library; Harvard University Library; the Library of Congress; the Library of Trinity College, Dublin; the National Library of Scotland, and the University Libraries of Cambridge and Newcastle.

As well as providing exhaustive coverage of monograph publication during this period, the NSTC indexes works of literature, translations, legal documents, political pamphlets, medical and scientific monographs, thousands of periodicals, directories and other ephemeral publications.

It is an invaluable tool for research in a wide variety of disciplines, and allows personal research bibliographies to be created and saved.
