The Wellcome Library has recently launched a major new digital resource which tells the story of genetics.
Codebreakers: Making of Modern Genetics contains the digitised archives of the most prominent individuals in this field, together with much supporting material from the Wellcome Library and partner institutions.
Twenty archive collections relating to genetics research and
biochemistry have been digitised.
Collections include the papers of Sydney Brenner, Francis Crick, Rosalind Franklin, Peter Medawar, Lionel Penrose, James Watson, The Eugenics Society, etc., and range in date from 1863
The digitised archives are freely available to view, though initial registration is required for viewing the archives which are less than 100 years old.
