New e-Resource - Eighteenth Century Journals V: The Lady’s Magazine and Other Titles, 1712-1835

Our recent permanent-access purchase of Eighteenth Century Journals V: The Lady’s Magazine and Other Titles, 1712-1835 (titles) completes the Eighteenth Century Journals database.

We already have permanent full-text access to Eighteenth Century Journals I-IV.

All aspects of eighteenth-century studies are covered, including British and European literature, theatre and popular entertainment, politics, religion, the American and French Revolutions, social life, gender, the origins and rise of Romanticism, exoticism and imperialism, and the culture of print. 

The five sections are:
    I    Newspapers and Periodicals, 1693-1793, from the Bodleian Library, Oxford
     II   Newspapers and Periodicals, 1699-1812, from the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, University of Texas at Austin
     III  Newspapers and Periodicals, 1680-1816, from British Library Newspapers, Colindale and Cambridge University Library
     IV   Newspapers and Periodicals, 1708-1820, from Chetham's Library, Manchester and the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds
     V   The Lady’s Magazine and Other Titles, 1712-1835, from Birmingham Central Library, British Library, Cambridge University Library and Liverpool John Moores University Library

Search results display the digital image of the original and a transcript of each page.

Titles have been screened against other 18thC scholarly databases to ensure little overlap with Early English Books Online (EEBO); 19th Century British Library Newspapers; Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO); The Burney Collection; and British Periodicals.
