New e-Resources - over 28,000 new e-books coming soon

SHEDL at  UKSGThe Library is a member of SHEDL (the Scottish Higher Education Digital Library) collaborative purchasing consortium.  SHEDL aims to achieve a better research infrastructure for Scotland’s universities, with a shared digital library providing easier access to online content.

Members are the 18 Scottish Higher Education Institutions, the National Library of Scotland, and National Museums Scotland 

Coming soon is access to over 28,000 e-books in 5 SHEDL-licensed e-book packages:

Elsevier (2,850 titles)       OUP (14,715 titles)       Palgrave (5,200 titles) 
Sage (2,440 titles)       Wiley (2,627 titles)

These e-books will be findable in  in SAULCAT and SEEKER, very soon - watch this space for more information!

Access has been licensed for a minimum of 2 years, and potentially for longer.

SHEDL has already had considerable success in licensing shared access to over 3,460 e-journals, from the following leading academic publishers:

American Chemical Society (ACS): 41 e-journals
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): 25 online and 50 conference titles
Bloomsbury: 18 e-journals
Brill: 197 e-journals, including 6 Open Access journals
Cambridge University Press (CUP): 264 e-journals
Edinburgh University Press (EUP): 32 e-journals
IEEE: access to e-journals and conferences
JoVE: general bundle of collections
Karger: 130 biomedical science e-journals
Oxford University Press (OUP): 222 e-journals
Project Muse
Sage: Premier Collections
Social Sciences Directory
Springer: all English language e-books and 1,933 e-journals
Web of Knowledge: all databases plus full archive
