We're delighted to offer a trial of Birds of North America Online, until 17 January 2015.

BNA Online is the online version of the 18-volume print encyclopedia, the result of a 10 year project by the American Ornithologists' Union, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and the Academy of Natural Sciences.

BNA Online provides comprehensive life histories for each of the 716+ species of birds breeding in the USA (including Hawaii) and Canada.

Detailed articles for each species provide information on distribution, systematics, migration, habitat, food habits, sound, behaviours, breeding, demography, populations, conservation, etc.. Many image and video galleries show plumages, behaviours, habitat, nests and eggs, etc..

Most entries also feature recordings of the songs and calls of their species, selected from Cornell's Macaulay Library, the world’s leading scientific collection of biodiversity media.

BNA Online is updated frequently, and future enhancements will include more audio, video and images.

Birds of North America online is an excellent resource. Absolutely essential to any ornithologists in the University. We also need to have access to Handbook of Birds of the World HBWalive online (Lynx Edicions). I hope we can continue the subscription.
